More than 50 years ago, John K. Vogel left the security of a steady job to build something of his own. In the early days, he did it all—taking customer orders, putting his horse out to pasture before heading into the shop to manufacture metal shapes, then loading them into his box truck for delivery. On long trips, he'd even sleep in the back of the truck to ensure every customer received their order on time.
What began as a one-man operation quickly grew into a trusted name in the flooring industry. Today, National Metal Shapes continues John’s legacy—blending decades of expertise with forward-thinking innovation. From carpet metals to ceramic, terrazzo, and now precision waterjet designs, we’ve continually evolved to meet the industry’s demands. Today, we’re building on that legacy—driving innovation, expanding our capabilities, and shaping the future of metal solutions.
